About the Presenters

Steffen Schmitt studied biology at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and finished his phD with key aspects in immunology. Subsequent to a postdoc time, he went to the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz, where he built up the flow cytometric service at the Center for natural and medical sciences (NMFZ). Since 2007 Steffen Schmitt is heading the Flow Cytometry Core Facility of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg.

Marcus Eich studied biology at the Technical University Darmstadt and finished his PhD in 2011 in toxicology at the university medical center Mainz. After an additional post doc in Mainz he joined in 2015 the HI-STEM team and the Flow Cytometry Core Facility of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg

 

Webinar Description

The hematopoietic system is a very fascinating system to study as it can re-populate an entire system starting from just one cell. In this webinar we give an overview of the targeted subpopulations of the hematopoietic system and how we tried to combine different experimental tasks and setups in one panel. At the end we discuss some of the issues we came up with during the panel design and present a short outlook how to further improve the panel.
